27 days to launch
Regulated market go-live: July 13, 2026
From the iGaming Alberta Act’s Royal Assent to go-live, the runway is 94% complete. This page re-verifies the AGLC register weekly until launch day.
What changes on July 13
Today, roughly 70% of Alberta’s online gambling happens with unregulated offshore operators, by the provincial government’s own estimate. The iGaming Alberta Act (Royal Assent May 15, 2025) replaces that grey market with an Ontario-style licensed system: operators register with the AGLC, sign agreements with the Alberta iGaming Corporation, integrate centralized self-exclusion, and meet SOC 2 security certification requirements.
Players get regulated dispute paths, segregated and returnable player funds, mandatory responsible gambling tooling, and advertising limits (no public inducement offers; offers may only be presented on-site or to consenting registered players). Political-event betting and CHL/minor-league betting are prohibited outright.
Every entry below is checked against the AGLC registrant list rather than press releases. The register grew to 35 site registrations by late May 2026; we re-verify weekly and update this page as new operators land.

Alberta launch FAQ
When do online casinos become legal in Alberta?
Alberta’s regulated market opens July 13, 2026 under the iGaming Alberta Act. From that date, AGLC-registered operators with executed Alberta iGaming Corporation agreements can legally serve Alberta players. Unregulated operators must cease Alberta activity, with wind-down extensions to October 13, 2026 at the latest.
Which casinos are registered for the Alberta launch?
The AGLC pre-launch register (parsed May 29, 2026) shows 35 site registrations across 28 legal entities: roughly 40 brands, including bet365, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, Jackpot City, Royal Vegas and Spin Casino. Seven of the brands on our index are registered.
What is the legal gambling age in Alberta?
18, the lowest in Canada alongside Manitoba and Quebec. Ontario’s minimum is 19.
Will my existing casino account still work after July 13?
If your casino registered with the AGLC, it will transition to the regulated market. If it did not, it must stop serving Alberta, and operators are required to return player funds during the wind-down. Check our directory for registration status.
Does Alberta have self-exclusion?
Yes. A centralized, omni-channel self-exclusion system is mandatory for all operators from launch day, covering every regulated site with one registration.
